As well as practising as a one-to-one life coach, Gordon Melvin runs group coaching sessions part of a national organisation - see www.affordablelifecoaching.org. Gordon also works as a Reiki Practitioner (Usui system and tradition) and teacher of the Enneagram - a personality typing system renowned for its accuracy and practical application in business/career development, self development and spirituality - this he incorporates into his one-to-one coaching work.
Gordon is passionate about helping people to connect with the core issues in their lives - their creativity, aspirations and dreams. Gordon originally trained as an artist and has been involved in an NHS project - Arts for Health; he became a priest in 1988. His last ministry was as Senior Chaplain to the Ipswich and St Clements Hospitals, working in the fields of both acute and mental health. He left in 2004 to become a life coach.
Gordon's years of ministry have provided him with a wealth of intimate experiences of the human situation and given him a wonderful background for his current interest in a wider, more universal spirituality and healing process.
Having worked in the broad spectrum of the NHS for over thirteen years, Gordon has an interest in what he refers to as people's innate spirituality, which he treats as an integral, though often unknown part, of what it is to be fully alive and indeed Human!
Equally Gordon has worked closely with people of varied faith backgrounds. He considers himself a friend of the Fellowship of the Western Buddhists and regularly meditates with the community at the Ipswich Buddhist Centre, of which Higher Evolution is a part.
